The only way to do it is to remove the ignition switch(key cyclinder), which involves taking the column apart. You have to do it that way to dissengage the steering lock and there are may wires that go to the switch that turn on Lots of different things that are need to start and keep the car running. If you lost the key the dealer may be able to cut a key from the VIN.
