The spanish felt that the conquest for the Aztecs was a spiritual enlightenment type of conquest. They felt that by doing this, their "god" would be pleased that they had conquered what seemed to be an evil population in their eyes.

I don't know about the axtecs! But i do know about the aztecs. They loved raping and pillaging their villages. ALL HAIL CORTEZ!!
