Conservatives cry "the U.N. would never support an invasion to find Osama"... since when did you guys care what the U.N. thinks? When it fits your motives?

HERE'S AN IDEA... how about going after the ONLY group that has hit us in the continental U.S.... al-queda and Osama? I know it's crazy... actually eliminating a threat...

he killed 3,000... I say screw the U.N... and screw anyone that gets in our way... and screw worrying about people that have never attacked us... until we take care of those that have

rukidding: I'm pissed about Clinton too... but that's a pathetic excuse to not go after him now... Clinton failed... so Bush can too? THAT'S BS...

Rabbit: I'll put it to you this way... I'VE HEARD VERY, VERY, VERY few people complain, on both sides... about us EVER actively going after Osama... VERY little negative talk about Afghanistan... AS LONG AS WE ARE GOING AFTER THOSE WITH THE GREATEST LINKS TO 9-11... I DON'T THINK YOU CAN GO WRONG... 3,000 deaths is a WHOLE lot of reason to take a WHOLE lot of action

but start going to Iraq (with very weak links to 9-11) and all this other stuff... then people get upset...

Huh? I don't know any conservatives who think anything about the UN except that it's worthless and needs to go. Let's remember: If Clinton had taken Osama when they tried to give him to Bill more than once, we wouldn't have to talk about it.

It is sad that the boys in Washington are attacking the UN. They have forgotten its history. The United States co-founded the UN and was a major participant in drafting the UN Charter.

What the Bush Administration is saying is that they don't want to follow any rules. Unfortunately for Bush, he does not get to veto or use "executive privilege" on the UN (as he has when he added "signing statements" to laws enacted by Congress.)

Far more than any predecessor, Bush has been aggressive about declaring his right to ignore vast swaths of laws -- many of which he says infringe on power he believes the Constitution assigns to him alone as the head of the executive branch or the commander in chief of the military. But he cannot do that to the UN Charter. This is why the Republican Party is bashing the UN.

Osama ben Laden is dead. Bush and the Taliban are keeping him alive for propaganda purposes only. This is why Bush is no longer going after him. (Do a Yahoo search for "Osama" and "died" to see.)

Well, gee, we ignore the UN ignoring the wrongs in Iraq and everyone is fussing about our going alone, even with a coalition of dozens of countries.

Now, listening to all the incessant grief over not waiting on the UN to act, we turn to them and say, "Okay, geniuses, you've got a problem and we'll play your game"--now we are wrong again?

Darned if you do, darned if you don't. We couldn't please you if we hung you with a new rope.

We've got a UN ambassador that thinks the UN ought to pack up and move to Switzerland and people think he is undiplomatic and unfit. We have him cook up the closest thing to a livable agreement and we're caving in.

Once more the UN is a worse than worthless hypocracy, and we gave them every excuse and opportunity to deliver the goods--but you are going to criticize the conservatives? Wow, the next thing we will see crime in the streets and want to arrest the people who called 911 or stepped forward to testify.

You are right, the UN is garbage. You are wrong, the conservatives haven't changed their stripes. As for Osama, when he thinks it is safe to surface again, we'll spot him, we really haven't stopped watching for him.

Osama will always be a threat and hopefully he will one day be found. Iran is also a country that needs to seriously be watched. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a crazy man.
I guess what people find so hard to believe is, the threat will never be eliminated. But what I find to be most annoying is that liberals want our country to just sit on their hands and let us all die. They don't want the terror cells to be eliminated, they would rather us all be exterminated.
It's quite sad and that's why our country is in such turmoil and that's another reason why the terrorists are still winning.

Bin Ladin is a CIA trained resource, used in all of this bs to get the U.S into a phony war, attacking other countries to provide a place for the U.S Military to base its operations in the midle east, since the Saudis have basically kicked us out of their country, telling us to pack up and get out. Plus, there is oil there, which certain major corporations in the U.S. want control of, so they can keep the oil prices artificially high, and make even more record profits, thereby providing oil barons here, as well as their stockholders even more money, thereby ripping the people here off even more

No, most conservatives do not like the UN and recognize that it is totally useless. It is just a way for third world countries to hold civilization back.
