Consulting with lawyers, drafting, agreeing etc. We want to get married in 2 weeks or less. We were also thinking of doing a covenent marriage which means that you have to agree to counseling before a divorce. How long without the covenat marriage and just prenup stuff? How long with the covenent marriage?

Any websites you can refer me to?
Thanks

There is no way you are going to get that done in two weeks. First you have to find a decent lawyer with experience in this area who can give you good practical advice. He'll give you the pros and cons of each of the points you want to cover and the legal ramifications. He'll also point out issues the two of you have never even thought of if he's any good Then the two of you have to take into the consideration the advice that he has given you and come to an agreement as to what you want included. Then generally you make an appointment and have him begin composing the draft of the covenant and the prenup agreement. After he has finalized the draft, you'll have to make another appointment to finalize the agreement and have your signatures witnessed. If you can do that in two weeks, that will be nothing short of a miracle. Catspaw is right. you will each need your own lawyer to represent you.. Good luck.

Depends on the lawyer, and it depends on how complicated you want to make it. Most lawyers who do this a lot have a format they work off of, and they customize to the client. A reputable lawyer will not represent both of you. You each need your own lawyer.

So, with the right lawyer, probably as little as a couple of days. But you have to do your part and proof it and have your fiance's lawyer proof it too.
