to get anything to work anymore you need an adapter for it. eg, if i were to buy an XBOX 360 and wanted to hook it up to the internet i would have to buy a 100$ part. if i want to be able to surf the net i must buy a 100$ part. if i want to be able to see the most common picture and video formats (GIF, JPG, DivX, etc) i must buy a 90$ modulator. to hook it up to an HDTV i must buy a 40$ cable. to play a four player game on onew console i must have two 70$ wireless controllers and two 50$ wired controllers. and all of this just to do some fairly basic stuff. there are many more examples out there of microsoft's ability to force the majority of us pc owners to buy extra bits and peices. but yet because microsoft stuff is so common then software programmers progrm some of their software only to run with microsoft O/S's. most people have windows of some sort and not as many people have a LINUX. do you think it is microsoft's fault or ours that we are paying big bucks for so much stuff?

Microsoft isn't forcing me to buy anything. you want an XBOX 360 and you WANT to connect to the internet then you MUST buy the upgrade, there's no reason that microsoft can't do business this way. Try spending money on a decent computer, and you won't have this problem.
