I'm not from your family, but I strongly agree! You should not pay attention to any of those provocations, and shouldn't even waste your time with it!
Just let them drown in their minds and ignore them - just as we ignore political speeches - a bunch of rubbish!
Excuse me for answering uninvited as I am, but, I had to say this!
P.S. - I've allready answered to your previous question (same as this), but it dissapeared before I could post the answer. (?)

No, I believe in open dialog like Paul said. I think there still is a feeling of camaraderie here without us self-segregating from straight people who visit this site. GLBT people are not a homogeneous group in of themselves anyway. And some of the nastiest, unwarranted replies to my questions have come from radical, hard-core GLBT people who have the idea that its either their way or the highway -- that their life is a model for everybody else's life, and if it's not, then we (according to them) should not consider ourselves under the GLBT banner. I like the wide variety of users here, including the straight people who may have friends or family who are GLBT or who may even be questioning their own sexual preferences or issues.

No, Sweetness, I think in some cases we should reply, if only to keep hammering our own heads against the wave of ignorance. If we simply stop, then no one learns anything..including us. A lot of times there are indeed too many flippant and disrespectful answers but within those there are kernels of profound knowledge. Believe it or not, they are there if you choose to look. Yes, we're here to enjoy ourselves but this is a Q and A session not a chat. Blessings on you, my dear.

They should stop responding to the negative comments, and tune it out. However, continue to have pleasant family talks and hangouts. If it must come to it, simply explain, "This is the way I am." and change the topic. If they're still nasty to you, tell them (as politely as possible) that there is more to you than your labels, and they should ignore that part of you if they don't accept it. If they refuse, decide whether you can tolerate it or not, and if not, talk to another neutral family member to see if they can talk to them, or if you should just start turning a cold cheek to the peculiar family member.

I've just gotten to the point where I don't even reply to homophobic posts, I just report them as "insulting participants", which they really are. I really just wish that there is a forum as good as this that is free of all these assholes. I think everyone from this LGBT community should just report all the people who have absolutely no business in this section. Bible thumpers should be reported for advertising. That's why the option is there.

The smart a's [pardon], the smug and self righteous might be ignored or replied to with I did not realize that you were truly interested dear.' When it comes down to the cruel and malicious as with my late darling partners family I was fortunate to have asked my brother for help. I could have killed one when I was warned to stay way from her grave in their "church's" private cemetery. I was away on long leave when she died of a virulent cancer. I did not know of this 'though she had spoken of "feeling Tired"
Her family had claimed her remains and the stone bore only her date of birth and "UNKNOWN TO GOD".
"Lesbian? NO you're lessthannothing" the woman said.
Forgive me. The memory still provokes a sick anger but also thanks that I do not have blood on my hands.

Well its best to ignore people like that, and you shouldn't exclude people that are not in the "GLBT family", I'm a heterosexual married woman who accepts everyone no matter what sexual preference they are. Its a waste of breath trying to get ignorant people to accept homosexuality.

No. He does not. he's made it very clean that homosexuality is forbidden. The transvestites or transgendered who placed on clothing opposite of their intercourse is likewise forbidden by using God too. those religions which now "settle for" it will be made to account for his or her popularity of those issues. In christianity somewhat, the bible isn't a cafeteria. we will not have self belief what we would like from the bible and forget approximately proper to something. it somewhat is not any longer the way it works. the two we settle for and obey God's word or we don't.

You shouldnt call it a family. And you shouldnt just accept answers from this "family" only. There are heterosexual people out there who are truly pro gay and support us.
They deserve to answer here as well. And no, we should never stop responding. We should stand up for our rights and equal treatment. People around the world are still being hit and killed for being gay. We have to make it stop.
