What Is the reason they want to be married. If they love eachother and are commited to eachother why do they need the paper, or the vows, over 50 percent of the people that marry ,are divorcing, so marriage don`t mean much anymore, i don`t think they really care so much about the marrage part as they do the insurance, and retirement, why don`t they just make out a will and leave everything to the one they love. they both can carry insurance on theirself, and if they want to be married why, have a legal marriage? why not just have a gay friend perform a cerimony and make up a fake license and pretend they are married, they already live together, and noone is keeping them apart. Its a pretend life anyways, we all pretend were going to be together always and forever, we say I do, when we know ,we don`t, we say I love you, and then we prove it by cheating. Its a world of lies and cheats, and hate. friends can not be trusted, brothers, and sisters can not be trusted, we would let our so called loved ones die to have what we want out of life, we have turned into a people that lets lust lead us by the nose. we have no morals any more. Look at some of the questions on here, some woman wanting to know if its wrong to want her own brother inlaw. that just gross.

I think if a couple, regardless of their sexual preferences, want's to be together they should be able to do so. I saw a show on a couple who had been together for 23 years and when the one ended up in the hospital they would not release any information to the other one. The family came in and took over and left ot the partner. I think if ANY couple these days, gay or not can be together for that long they deserve to have all the rights that come with it regardless of what anyone else thinks.

To me it is morally wrong but at the same time it is wrong for me to judge so I am in a quandary.
I believe that marriage should be between a man and woman because that is how the world continues. Gay people can not have children the same as a man and woman. However, I have no problem with gay people living their life. I do not believe gay marriage should be legalized.

Yes it needs to be legalized or make it civil unions because they deserve to have the same benefits married couples do. And if marriage by definition is just a religious idea under god, I'm sorry but I dont want it, id get a civil union instead just to make a point.

Marriage is a formal contract recognized by government and religious institutions. Religious Institutions are free to sanction such contracts as they see fit. Government on the other is obligated to recognize these agreements.
This issue is really about Religion Organizations trying to control the government.

Why the Hell should homosexuals getting married even be an issue. If you are against it, then you really shouldn't even care about it. Mind your own business. Nobody cares if hetero's get married, but all of a sudden they give a damn if they are the same sex? What kind of retarded crap is that? Everybody should just care about their own lives more than getting involved with a stranger's life.

why do other people want to control sooooo much how other choose to live their lives? My live in boyfriend opposite sex is 22 years younger than I. And we are happy. others need to worry about their own lifes and leave others alone. love who and marrie who you want! just make sure it's a happy respectful loving relationship! we have way more important issues in the world too worry about! Good luck.

I think maybe a more appropriate term would be civil unions. They are attached in the eyes of the law, even if not under church guidelines. I have no objection to it under those terms. Live and let live.
