Why does my girlfriend sleep through a loud film but wake as soon as it finishes?

It's not me being boring, lol, she asked me to put this question up.
It happens every time, even with films that she wants to watch!

It is called 'white noise' and is like a safety thing.....some can't go to sleep without a nightlight. The TV is acting like the same thing. Even though she may not realize it, her subconcious is awake....

Because any change in your surroundings will wake most people up. All animals have this built in - It's natures way of making sure we don't get eaten by nasty things when we're resting!
If she goes to sleep when it's loud, she will stay asleep until this changes (you turn it off).
If she sleeps leaning on you (or the same couch as you're on), you will probably be stock still as long as the film is occupying you, then start to move and fidget once the credits roll - you moving (even for the remote) could do it.
Could be the light coming from the screen - during the film it will be quite bright (even most dark films), but most credits roll on a black background - another sudden change.
During quiet films, the volume generally jumps when the music kicks in for the closing credits.

As for why she would sleep through a film in the first place, have her visit an optician - if she is even slightly long/short sighted, and it's not corrected (glasses/contacts), looking at the screen for any length of time can strain her eyes, causing her to feel tired.. (I had this myself, as did my last partner)

because when she was a baby she got used to hearing the t.v or the radio and when the t.v or radio got turned off it would wake her up.Its the opposite of falling asleep in a quite room and then waking up to a loud t.v or radio she wakes up to silence instead.
