Neither. Aspirin is a blood thinner, although it can help the pain, you'd have to take too much to get sustained relief. It is also hard on the stomach.
Tylenol has no anti-inflammatory. It helps some of the pain but the inflammation is usually what causes the pain associated w/ arthritis. With both Aspirin & Tylenol you have to be careful how much you take.
Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) is usually most effective, it is an anti-inflammatory. People usually get significant relief. Follow dosages on packaging. If this doesn't help see a Dr.

Aspirin is more effective, as it reduces inflamation. Just be sure you are not allergic to it.
