Yes, since you were receiving it from Microsoft it was their repsonsibility to make sure the system arrived to you in its repaired or un-repaired state. If they don't pay, you should file a complaint.

I'm not sure what Microsoft's policies are. But most companies have it in their terms that they are not responsible for items lost or damaged by the carrier. You or Microsoft would probably have to take it up with UPS. They are the ones responsible for the package.

No, they will give you a free order so you can order something for free and probably have to pay a low amount for shipping and handling.

It depends on who insures the mail. If MS are responsibel then they will replace the box. If you are responsible for shipping then your insurance will replace the box. UPS will usually be the insurers so you should contact them.

all UPS shipments are (automatically and for free) insured for 100 dollars. want more then pay the insurance on declared value.

they will probably have ups pay you the insured value of the package unless it isn't insured then you may not get anything
