If a worker and her helper can refabulate a widget in 2 days; the worker and her apprentice can do it in 3 days; the helper and apprentice together can do it in 6 days, how many days would it take each of them working alone?

1. yes.. measure 10 gallons using the 5-gallon container and pour the liquid in the 8-gallon container... the remaining in the 5-gallon container then will be 2gallons (theoretically)
2. worker works 1 day alone; helper works 1 day alone; and apprentice will work 5 days alone

1. fill the 5 gallon then transfer it to 8 gallon. fill the 5 gallon again and pour it again to 8 gallon. 2 gallon will be left in the 5 gallon container

Fill a 5 gallon container and empty it into an empty 8g container. Now fill your 5 g container again and pour it into the 8g container until the 8 g container is full. Your 5g container now contains 2 gallons.

take the 5-gallon container, fillit with water and pour into the 8-gal

refill the 5-gal anbd start to pouir ...

when the 8-gal is full, the amountr left in the 5-gal is = 2 gallons
