Hello, I am Robert looking for people that can help me find a good webcan and also tell me how to hook it up and is there any special software needed. Want a good brand name as I have experienced the web selling products and after trying to use I found out that it was junk. Also can anyone share places to find new friends using webcams free of charge. THANKS TO ALL IN ADVANCE

Creative is a good brand. The camera usually comes with whatever software you need, or you can use Microsoft's NetMeeting that's included with Windows.
Follow the instructions you get with the camera to hook it up. Make sure you follow them carefully. If the directions say install the software before you hook up the camera, it probably won't work if you hook up the camera first. You have to do it like the instructions tell you to avoid problems.

webcams are inexpensive overall, depending on the resolution you need. the software to install it and use it usually comes with it. figure on under $75
