I like Hostel because it is just cool to watch. A good story and it's not like it would be impossible to actually happen (like Friday the 13th or something like that)

I tend to lean towards the over the top gory horror movies because I find them hilarious. So I'd have to go with Dead Alive, it's by far the goriest movie ever made. Every horror movie fan should see this at least once. (Never watch it while you're eating)

Freddy in the "Nightmare On Elm Street" movies is pretty scarey but the real test is, can you watch a scarey movie alone in the dark? The two that never fail to make me turn the lights on is " 'Salem's Lot" the movie made from the Stephen King book and "hellraiser". Something about Pinhead just wigs me out.

The Exorcist. Even now the movie continues to frighten generations of horror movie viewers.

Well, given that I'm scared shitless whenever I see any horror film, I would have to say the one I had nightmares over for a month and caused me extreme paranoia with every shadow is When Darkness Falls. That lady is so freaky. (I also, though it's not a horror film, still have intense nightmares of Gene Wilder in Willie Wonka and those creepy oompa loompas. *shiver* Ugh...he is so creepy.)

I don't know about the "Best" but there is only one movie that I was too afraid to finish...... i've seen lots of scary movies , but none scared me as bad as "Jeepers Creepers"

Towards the end of the movie, I actually cried/almost screamed at one point, o.O (though my husband was with me and he just laughed lol....) i couldnt finish it, until the next morning when the windows were open, sun shining, and husband right there with me, and even then, before i finished the movie, i told him to hurry and tell me the ending so i'd know what to expect ^_~

The older movies. The newer ones are predictable. I like Birds, Exorcist, Halloween. Alfred Hitchcock is the best.

To me it was Candy Man. I watched all the horror shows and none scared me as much as this one. Guess because I knew the others were fake but this one could be real. I watched it one night when it was really late, in the dark, by myself.

OMG it HAS to be top 5:
1.Excorsist (it's sad not scary and its true)
2.Amityville horror (scary that that guy killed his OWN family and sad scariest part probably when little girl got babysitter's finger and put it through her head, i watched that at night with my bro said if iwatched it with him would give me some kfc, not scary but sad)
3. the grudge (japnese version, after seeing signs a long time ago only listened to the grudge scary as hell either way to me, im a chicken i admit)
4. signs (scary becuz it a movie that DONT show u the aliens, makes it scarier, was afraid to sleep without lights and without someone for months)
5. House of wax (HOLY SH*T THAT IS ONE SCARY A S S MOVIE!!!!!! Left me scared for months and now am scared of wax, scared me becuz of scary images and how they were twins damn am now shaking!!!!!!!!) When I was little I used to think that Nightmare on Elm Street movies were so scary but watching them now theyre so stupid. I think almost anything by Stephen King is scary. Pet Semetary was and is probably one of the scariest movies to me. I still get scared when I watch it.

none of them. horror movies are so predictable. wow, 6 friends.. one killer.. a few gory scenes, a lot of running away. and in the end one or two people may live. i find suspense movies are so much better. they really make you think about the situation and they take twists.
