Align your name, date, class on the right-hand side. Double space, and then align your topic in the center.
Another double space and start writing by aligning on the left side.
Good luck!

Everyone does it different. If the teacher doesn't specify do it how previous teachers have had you do it, or do it simply however you prefer.

Personally if it was a big paper I'd use a separate cover sheet with Essay topic (or title) and then your name below it in the center of the paper in bold.

If it is a smaller paper I like to put the Essay Topic or work (i.e. Homework Assignment #1) on the left hand side and my name on the right:

It usually shouldn't make much of a difference. If the teacher didn't tell you a specific way, it means he/she isn't picky about it. If I were you I would put your name and the date on the top right and then center the topic/title a few lines below.

Good luck

I would assume that you would align the text to the right at the top of the page and then put your name, date and period.

Topic is centered.

The topic title is centered at the top of the page. Your name
is at the right of the title. On the next line is your topic sentence.

For an essay, I always had the heading on top and never wrote a topic title.

I don't know about what your heading looks like but this is mine:

Name...................Date
Subject................Period
(No dots)
