Try to rest and drink lots of water and eat a banana. This will work! Then you will be ready for basketball and ready to work!

Depends on how far you're running and for how long.
Also you didn't mention where your pain is at.
You should take precautions before you run, do some stretches, drink water to stay hydrated, and massage your leg muscles, working from the toes traveling upward.
Be careful and use common sense if you feel you've really pulled a muscle. If so, ice it down for a bit and if it is in your leg elevate it as well.
Good luck.

More likely you have strained a muscle or are developing tendonitis from overuse of a joint. Are you using heat or ice to reduce pain? If you have pain that lasts over a week, while you are using proper resting and restoration techniques or if there is significant swelling, you should seek medical attention.
