Just started shaving and it is really itching. I don't want to dry my skin out. Sorry if this is a stupid question but it's not like I can ask my firends.

A couple of tips:

Soak in the bathtub before shaving.
Use shaving foam and a new disposable razor each time.
Shave with the dirsction of hair growth.
Use a mirror to see further down.
After shaving use a good moisturisor to rehydrate the skin.
Depending on hair thickness and growth rates shave between daily and twice a week to keep it comfortable.

I should add that it gets more comfortable as the skin gets used to being shaved.

Well you can't shave too early because you will have red spots and agitate the skin. Make sure you put lotion on the skin and it should help with the itching. Hair needs to grow out a little bit, before you shave again...it just depends on how quickly your hair grows.

It gets better with time. I shave every couple days. I use an electric shaver called Hair eRazor (got it off eBay) where the blades don't actually touch the skin. It gives a great shave, and it's great to use on your crotch since it won't nick and cut. And, i've gotten enough nicks and cuts down there to try anything that'll shave without hurting.

Just neaten up the sideburns on that bearded clam with a nice trim, no need to shave it all off. If you shave it to the skin you'll have to do so every couple of days at least. That gets old in a hurry.

Shave everyday or two.................did you dry shave or wet shave? I wet shave.........but you can use lots of talcum powder on your you know what...and dry shave your pubic area....that does stop the itching.... also shave down against the hair not up.....you'll irritate the hair follicle less doing it this way..... think itching is natural until you do it often...

They sell cream and gels that were made specifically to prevent red bumps and itchiness.

In my experience, the more you shave, the more aggitated it gets.

The cream is available (well, should be) right where the hair remover section is.

Make sure when you shave, you use plenty of soap or shaving cream, and that your razor isn't dull.

I would have thought about that before I shaved it off to start with.
