I think its wrong in ALL cases, however, I don't support a law against it, because that would just fill up jail cells. I think we should fight it as we have been, through counseling, and giving people all the options.

I never had an unwanted pregnancy so I can't say where I stand. A friend of mine was soooo against abortion, she let go of friends because they got abortions. But when she was faced with having another child by a dead beat dad she made the choice to have one. So what I learned from that is you never know what you would do when faced with certain circumstances. What I don't like is when you use abortion as a form of birth control. Everybody knows that if you have sex there is always a chance you will get pregnant. Take precautions beforehand. But who really cares what someone else thinks about abortion, right!!!

I understand that the subject of the morality of 'abortion' is an emotionally charged one, and discussing this subject should be done with respect for both views.

I, myself, do not agree with abortion on moral grounds. However, in a society that holds itself to be 'free', I do not think that it is possible to legislate those issues of morality whose pro and con arguments are so evenly weighted...

By this logic, and this logic alone, --- I side with the pro-choice camp.

EDIT: ginarene71 - Men will never be pregnant, and therefore shouldn't have ANY say in the abortion issue? Brilliant, - just brilliant. But why stop there? Why not just remove us from the responsibility of the entire process, whether pre- or post-partum? I'm sure a lot of dead-beat dad's would be grateful were you to legally remove them from the burden of child-support. Ridiculous? - Yes!

In a free society, EVERYONE has a say in all legal matters. Spit the bubble gum out and try to engage those frontal lobes so as to avoid making such adolescent statements in the future.

Seeing as how you are a man and all and will never be pregnant...why are you even sharing your opinion? It's a very painful and traumatic thing to even have to make a decision like that. People don't have abortions because they're fun and relaxing. So kind of you to be concerned about the jails and not the women who would die from botched procedures. But you are right about counseling and giving options. It would be better to prevent the initial pregnancy to begin with.

I think it should be an option... but not just to take care of a "mistake" I can understand it for health issues, rape or a few other cases but I am really against it for like I say just to take care of a problem.
It really freaks me out how many people at a young age on here asking what they should do or asking if we think they are pregnant after having unprotected sex... I am not sure if they are just trying to get others pissed off ( I am assuming so) but I do think it does happen way to often.. how can people not understand or simply choose to ignore how important using a condom is.. I will never understand it!

I don't believe in abortion i feel a law against it wouldn't work
because most likely people would still do it like they do under age sex it wouldn't make a difference against the law or not
people are going to do it no matter what although i strongly refuse to believe abortion is the answer in any situation its their decision not the governments or the states

I am so undecided about this.."On one hand I see many people having babies as easy as taking a tylenol"...and not even caring or wanting it. "I also see woman willing to give there right Arm for a child". I have two daughters and I could not imagine my life without them"...but my second pregnancy I was told "To Terminate" because of complications. I could have died and not lived to take care of my first born. "But when there is life" fear seems really far away"...and I did not see it as a choice to keep the baby. Just the right thing too do. " I would hate to see young mothers give up there lives for doing something to there bodies also to get rid of there child too. "Or in the case of a rape" I am assuming it would be quite hard on the mother and the child knowing they were a victim of that. "I just think back at something my mother once said"...
"God..why didn't you send someone to cure cancer?
Or why didn't you send someone to help the little children? Or someone to stop the hate or crime..."He answered" I have Child"
"But you aborted him"....So I guess with that as my answer..."It is in God's hands...and your mind what you have to live with for the rest of your life when you want to "choose"..yourself.

i was totally against it at one stage but i have changed my views. i still don't like them but u must realise that there are some serious reasons y girls have them. if a girl was raped and bore the child only to give it away for adoption, what happens when the child wants to know it's father and found out he was a rapist? or what if the mother kept the child only having to be reminded that she was raped? what if u had the decision thru complications of birth that u either had to abort and live or have the baby and die? who would raise the child? i did have an abortion when i was younger and yes i do feel guilty but i still think of that child. i was young and stupid but i was going thru a rough time and my bf at the time said to get rid of it. i'm now finding it hard to get pregnant now but whether that's caused thru the abortion or not is another story and its just a consequence i have to live with.

If you give people the choice, they can choose to have an abortion... they can also choose NOT to have an abortion. You are not forcing anyone to have it done.

If you ban abortion, you give people little legal, safe choices. You end up with bunches of unwanted kids...

Or worse. Banning abortion will not stop a woman who gets pregnant and does not want the child from getting rid of it. Instead of being performed in safe, steril clinics... the proceedure would move to dark back alleys and the coat hanger will rule as the abortion tool of choice.

I say its up to the individual person to choose, ive never had an abortion and i wouldnt unless i was raped, but i know people who have and i dont treat them any differently, why should i???who are we to make other life altering choices for another human being???? what about rape victams??? people who cant afford to live themselves???? they didnt choose to be raped or to fall pregnant under them circumstances, so why should they have to look a child everyday and be reminded of something they would so obviously they would wanna put behind them, or look a child and think oh i wish i had some money to buy you foood clothes or even send u to school, its not fair to judge all people and their situations as the same coz they not.

Abortion is a piss poor way of birth control. It is also taking a life. However I do not think that the government should be allowed to legislate my morality, abortion is a moral issue and therefore the government should stay out of it. I agree through education, counseling and giving people all the options is the best way to fix this problem.

Another point I would like to make is that I am old enough to remember when abortions were illegal, girls still got them. In sleazy motels and in back alleys and many died from infection and bleeding to death. I would not want my sister or even your sister to be found in some back alley with a coat hanger still sticking out of them, bled to death.
