Hello Sombody,
You have posed a good question. Our family has had the same problem with Washington State. In fact, that is actually the reason we moved into Idaho.

Our family had a business of House Moving and I worked with my father. Unfortunately, L&I and C.P.S feel it is their duty to stop us. We have been battling them for the last three years in court, and we will continue to do so for as long as we need to. We fight for the right to train and apprentice your own child, and we believe this is a cause worth fighting for. We have already won three times, but they continue to appeal their loss.

Due to the persecution from L&I and CPS we have lost 18 properties, including our $300,000 home. We now rent a small home in North Idaho. Here we may not be as wealthy. But we are able to operate as a family without being bothered by uncontrolled bureaucrats.

How can they sleep at nights? I don't know that they do. I certainly could not, if I were in their shoes. But if they are actually able to, then there is only one answer. 1 Timothy 4:2 speaks of certain people who have had their conscience "seared with a hot iron", this is the best answer I can give you. Ironically, the next verse tells us that these people are also anti-family (they forbid to marry). I certainly I wouldn't want to be in their shoes on judgment day!

One last thought. I think we both realize how tyrannical and diabolical CPS is. But we have no one to blame but ourselves. It is us, we the people, who have tolerated this despotism. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. Unless somebody does something it will only get worse. Each of us needs to take responsibility.

I have no idea what your circumstances are, but as far as I'm concerned the state of washington does not take enough children away from abusive and neglectful parents, and when they do they return them way too often. children have turned up dead who were returned to bad parents...I wish C.P.S. were held more accountable for the welfare of helpless children..

If a childs welfare is being threatened, then I agree with them. Parents that do get caught up in these situations however do have the opportunity to get the child back unless they are repeat offenders. The goal if at all possible is family unification.
