Wilson Pickett, Jackie Wilson, Muddy Waters, Lead Belly, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Etta James, James Brown, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, BB King, Ray Charles, Louis Jordan, Sam Cooke, Dinah Washington, John Lee Hooker, Billie Holiday

There are so many great R&B legends, each influencing a new generation of stellar artists. It's difficult to pick 1 that was the greatest of them all. They were all GREAT!

Unfortunately I am too young to remember the names of the great blues singers from back in the day, but I think that in present day Usher and Ginuwine are definately up there, whatever happened to Ginuwine anyway? I wish their dance contest would have taken place! Regardless of his sexual escapades R. Kelly is a god! And before that Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Gerald Levert, Jodeci, I could go on forever........!

You said R&B so I would go with Marvin Gaye, however, I love B.B. King, but Bobby Blue Band has the voice that I love more.
