There is a difference between dizziness and veritgo. What you are describing is vertigo. It is most likely caused by either the infection or the medication. It will probably go away, but if I were you, I would check with the doctor.

Hello everyone who has experienced dizziness while lying on their right side. Mine was dual in nature. First my cervical vertebrae were out of alignment, specifically #7. I had my neck adjusted and the dizziness subsided considerably. The other part of my dual cause, is inner ear. I am using a 50/50 solution of Brags apple cider vinegar and alcohol. Mix them in a dropper and then drop into ear. Let set in ear canal for around 5 to 10 minutes or when the ear canal feels unusually warm. Do this once a day for 3 days and see what happens. If the ear feels uncomfortable, use hydrogen peroxide in conjunction with the apple cider/alcohol drops. If the ear has an infection, the hydrogen peroxide will bubble and foam really quickly. Allow the bubbling to continue for at least 10 minutes then empty the ear canal. You don't have to use the hydrogen peroxide every day. Do it one time than wait 2 days and on the 3 day, put some more in your ear with a dropper and see what happens. If it bubbles, let it for another 10 minutes and then recheck the ear canal in 3 days. Good luck!

If this continues, call your doctor or go to the ER. It sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to the penicillin. Some people are allergic to the point where their lips feel tingly, they become dizzy, and stop breathing or their throats close. This is called anaphylactic (sp?) shock. Others just experience dizziness as a minor side effect.
How dizzy are you feeling?? Are you finding that you have to make more of an effort to breathe??
I was taking penicilin a while ago, went to the hospital because I was feeling weak and dizzy. Turns out it was shutting down my lungs!! Strange though 'cuz I really, really didn't *feel* like I couldn't breathe. I just felt dizzy and weak. Had to get immediate medication through a fast acting puffer and used an additional puffer for 2 weeks--the effects of the medication persisted even after I stopped taking it--I damaged my lungs.
If it's severe and preventing you from functioning, get to the ER.
UPSET MOM--you may want to do some research.

the infection in your tooth can affect sinuses and cause vertigo. If you are old enough to drive and the vertigo is bad enough I would try not to until you have tooth pulled.
In response to the answer above: dizziness is not an allergic reaction to a medication.

I had the same problem with Amoxycillin (a derivative of pennicillin)....Just made me groggy and light headed. I STRONGLY suggest you call your dentist or doctor!!! Anaphalaxis is a very serious situation and can be deadly.

perhaps you have an inner ear infection that is causing the vertigo. go to your primary care doctor or directly to an ear, nose and throat specialist
