why do people get mad when you tell them the truth but if u lie they get mad still?

I try to tell my kids (and I follow through) to just tell me the truth. I promise I won't yell and whatever the consequences, we'll pay them together if they just come and tell me the truth and talk about what happened. Kinda like the S.A.D.D. rule that a child can call home any time day or night from anywhere to get a ride home, with no questions asked.
It's hard but it instills trust and if you can't trust your mom and day, who can you go to? I want my kids to come to me!

Interesting question for Media & Journalism. I do not have a problem with the truth, even when I'm wrong. The problem I have is when the "truth" is unsubstantiated or biased for personal agendas, you find this a LOT in political discussions.

No. I embrace disillusionment & disenchantment to find the truth.
Other people: It depends upon the person, their maturity, the timng of the situation, whether they agree with the truth or lie and how it serves them and affects their preconceived notions.

i am a pretty honest person, in in return i expect my mates to have to same courtsey and respect for our friendship, i think if u lie to a mate it will come back x 3 and bite you fair on ya bum, honesty withya mates is they only way, one lie just leads to another one to cover the last one, and b4 u know it you just one big fat compulsive liar so i say just do yourself a favour and dont lie.

I always want people to tell the truth ...im a big girl and well i have soooo many people tell me .."your not fat" duh people wake up "look at me, i'm fat" lol
