Hoo boy. Pluto a star? Pluto's an icy body of rock. A star is the fourth state of matter, plasma, undergoing nuclear fusion, about a gazillion times the size of Pluto. But I did answer your question. Here's one for you: If Pluto is Mickey's dog, what the heck is Goofy supposed to be?

PLUTO was never been a star nor a planet now (recently it's being pull out from the solar system as a planet),
though we can categorize it in our own personal way, still we are not the authority....let's just wait how they categorize PLUTO.

Pluto isn't a star?! Holy crap!

It's now considered a dwarf planet, one of hundreds in the solar system.

Star? Wow, where have you been?

The difficulty in seeing details on the planet's surface is because of the dimness due to its distance and that what light does get there and is reflected back gets diffused in the distance. It becomes an out of focus blur.

It is a tad bit smaller than our moon, some 2200+ km across compared to the moon's 3400+ km. And it has a moon itself, Charon some 1200+ km across.

I think they are calling it a dwarf planet these days.

It never was considered a star in the first place--it was considered a planet. Now it's just an asteroid.
