So what does it mean when my temp goes up significantly from yesterday being 97.5 to today being 98.8, does that mean I have already ovulated or is it in the process of ovulation?

You are in the process of ovulation. Your temp will drop once you have ovulated. If it continues to rise even when you know you should have gotten your period than you may be pregnant. That's how I found out I was pregnant with my third. My temp never dropped.
