I just met an extremely interesting person online and began chatting with her. Is it wrong to do that if she is married? Even if the conversation is strictly platonic?

I dont think its wrong at all. The best conversations I have with people online are my married contacts. I can talk openly and honestly with them because I know they want nothing but good conversation from me. I dont talk to unahappily married men though, because they usually have an ulteria motive. I need to have stimulating and interesting conversations, and if the man/woman is married shouldnt really come into it, if its only good conversation you are wanting. Lots of people get on the net and talk to people all over the world married or single because they want to know about different cultures...There are many reasons why people chat online, and not all of them are to find a partner/girlfriend/boyfriend/lover.

so what Ur saying is you think Ur the only person on here that chat's to married people, now lets be honest how many of us know exactly what were talking to (lol) they could be aliens but if your feeling comfortable with that person go for it, you know were you stand by the way Ive been talking to 2 guys on here for the past 3yrs and there married and were a 100% platonic friends nothing else. just true friends, (just don't take advantage of her good nature) good luck dems x

Of course it's alright to chat with a married wo/man, just as it is to chat with a single wo/man. The problem arises when one has an ulterior motive for doing so.

its not wrong unless its goes past the platonic line , like meeting up ,or chatting with innuendos or sexual content,
Would you want to be invited to her divorce if her husband used emails etc with your name on to make you and her the villain, and what if he is a little more than angry and big!!!! maybe he will come to see you!

I am married and I have 'email conversations' with men. ( and women)
I love writing to people and enjoy the casual banter. I think as long as you are both straight with each other it's fine.
