I just got a new portable dishwasher, but my kitchen sink's faucet has no threading on it, so there is no way to screw the hose onto the kitchen faucet. Is there an adapter that I can buy to bypass this problem?

The current faucet is a wall mount and I cant replace the faucet...my landlord said he would have to tear up the whole wall.(not worth it)...Where can i find one of these rubber adapters? will they work? the adapter that came with the dishwasher uses the screwing mechanism that i cant use...I need something else to make a firm seal with the faucet so that there will be no leaking...

There is a rubber boot you can put over the faucet and connect to the dishwasher.
also you should be able to unscrew the screen on the faucet head, (inside threads).
Go to your local hardware store and get a new faucet head with the proper fitting you need.

Most faucets have an inside thread for a filter screen. I have several large fish tanks that contain over 100 gallons. I purchased a special adapter that has it's own filter screen to replace the one on the faucet. The other part of the adapter screws into the garden hose, and has a snap ring that fits over the adapter on the faucet. I use the garden hose on the faucet so I can adjust the water temperature to fill these large tanks. It should also work on a dishwasher. You can find this adapter in most hardware stores. Hope this helps, "GOOD LUCK"

Are you sure that the threads are not internal? Do you have an aeration screen on the bottom of it? If so you simple have internal threads, or a female end. If that's the case you are in luck, you just need an adapter for the type of connection your dishwasher has...I can't remember off-hand. Now if you don't have any threads like you say.....short of rigging something screwy, your best choice of a no-leak connection is a different faucet. You can pick them up pretty cheap too, and they are fairly straightforward to install.

I am 95+ % sure you have an aerator screen on the faucet .
Run your finger down the faucet, you will come to a seam around 1/4 " above where the water comes out.. Run a piece of masking tape around that part so you scratch it. Take a pair of water pump pliers and unscrew the part. Take the part with you and get an adapter that fits your needs .

I would see if the faucet has threads INSIDE of it. Most have some threads on them. If it does, they make an adapter for it too. I don't think the rubber boot thing is going to work. Check the bathroom faucet too.

My parent's used to have one. You may be SOL unless you replace the faucet to one that has threads. Once you have that, then there's a connector that goes onto the threaded faucet to hook onto the Dishwater line. Good Luck!!
