DO NOT USE FOAM PEANUTS!!! Foam peanuts, believe it or not, will scratch the finish (I've personally seen it happen). Buy a roll of bubble wrap and use only a single layer in between each piece. Wrap the hardware in a good amount though. I would take the heads off the drums pack inside one another. Use at least two boxes though because over packing will put too much stress on the drums.

Ideally it should be wrapped in something (old sheets, maybe) just in case something sharp punctures the box and scratches the finish; otherwise, there's no real need for padding, since they're built to withstand impacts on the head surfaces anyways - and even if a head was damaged, they're replaceable. Your main concern is avoiding any damage or scatches to the shells.

take the heads off and fit as many drums inside of each other as you can. Put into UPS box and fill w/ foam peanuts. Put the heads in the box w/ the bass drum. Fit cymbals into box w/ snare. Put pedals and stands in a long skinny box.

Well when I bought mine the bass drum and the hardware came in a big box and i just put the toms in my car, they had no box. So try to find the biggest box you can or you can use several.
