Recently my doctor had wrote me specific instructions-(word for word)-"Wear moderate to firm support pantyhose daily while active. NO EXCEPTIONS". He told me to wear them to avoid future surgery on some developing vein and leg pain problems.Start with some over the counter support pantyhose first,if there was no improvement in a month or so he would prescribe some. Also to put them on as soon as I get out of bed and take them off only before I go to bed at night.
My wife understands that I have to wear them or face the possability of surgery in the future.I like to wear shorts whenever I'm not at work(I'm a water&sewer construction foreman-I'm on my feet alot). She tells me just to wear them with shorts anyway-even out in public.I shouldn't worry about what people think -I'm the one that would be in surgery not the narrow-minded people that cant see the whole picture and are so insecure they have to judge other people, they may end up having to wear them too.I think she may be right

Wear the pantyhose! Even if people think it's weird, most will just think "wow! that guy's got great legs!" so work it!

Listen mate if thats what you gotta do then thats what you gotta do.Frankly I would just elevate my legs at night to help the circulation of blood. Distended veins happen when the valves at the top them lose there ability to lock off the amount of blood flowing through.bit like a gate, once that happens no amount of advice is gonna change it. The elastised stocking help by keeping the viens from stretching but youll have to wear them all the time mate. Alternative is get them stripped surgically .Cheers

i think what you need to stop and ask yourself,, is if you were really not insecure, would you even be asking for everyones opinion..
no ,, you would just wear them and have fun with it. and i don't mean have fun like acting like a cross dresser,, but just live like you would if you weren't wearing them.. impress your wife , don't worry about the rest.

Not sure what your question is here..............if you are self-conscience about what people might say, I'd wear long slacks to cover up the pantyhose.
Please take your doctor's advice.......hope everything works out for you.
