Let me start off this story with I'm dead broke. I had alot of money, but have been unemployed for a few months now and now I have close to none.
I had a perfect job interview (finally), after a month of searching and they called me up, liked my application and wanted me in for an interview on Tuesday.
I came in, met the first guy, he liked me, so I made it to the second guy. I conversated with allt he employees already on staff, and felt like they all really genuinely liked my personality. The first guy and me had already hit it off.
On the interview with the second guy, we had a pretty good connection, and I left the interview feeling like.. wow, I just aced that. This job is mine. They told me at the end that they would call the applicants that they wanted for the positions on Thursday (today).
Well, after waiting all day, I didn't get a call. I'm so confused, I was so sure I was gonna get that job. I'm almost heartbroken, i can hardly afford the rent.

And at the end of the month, I won't be able to at all!
I just don't know what to do or how to feel. I NEEDED THIS, and I felt so optimistic... it's like I was in the gutter, someone picked me up, but then pushed me back in and i fell hard.

In response to an answer.
I wasn't waiting around jack@ss. Finding interviews is HARD. I've been searching for TWO MONTHS, and this is the first company to actually call me in.

Why did you wait until you were almost broke to look for a job? Next time, plan ahead.
Call them. They may have so many applicants that they haven't had time to call you yet.

sorry about what happened to you. If im in your situation the first thing i would do is save what amount of money im left with to hit it home, before the landlord comes at the end of the month. tell the landlord you cant afford the full rent and pay him the amount worth of duration spent at his space. go back to your parents or somebody you can rely on at times like these( siblings, cousins, best friends)
Then do odd jobs to get by and visit a job agency to help you find a job. ask your friends if they know of any job opening somewhere and which if possible, to put in a few good words for you. keep on sending out your resumes at the same time. check them through a few times for language mistakes or wrong information before you (e-)mail them. borrow books on writing a good resume and doing well at interviews from the library to get pointers.
and don't raise your hopes too much after an interview that you think have went well because the next interviewee could impress them more.
hope you get a job soon.

Sometimes you can completely ace an interview and still not be selected. A lot of times, there are behind the scenes "politics"-- someone's niece/son/cousin.... needs a job... You never know what else may be going on. The important thing is to NEVER give up. Keep polishing your interview skills, and if at all possible, NETWORK!! Get to know some people in your chosen profession, so that the politics can help you too.

I don't think you did anything wrong. Maybe someone else was more qualified. If I were you, I would give them a call tomorrow. If they decided to go with someone else, thank them and tell them that you really appreciated them taking the time to interview you. After seeing how respectable you are, this may just give them a change of heart and give you the job anyhow. But even If that don't work, keep a positive attitude and continue looking. As far as paying your rent, I don't know what state you are in, but there are many resources out there who help people pay their rent. Try applying for public assistance. Sometimes we must swallow our pride. It's called survival. Good Luck, You are in my prayers.

Dude!...pick up the phone! Call them! They may be waiting to see who's the most eager for the job! Or maybe not.
Either way.....if you don't get the job that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with you.Someone else may have been more qualified for the job.
Just keep sending in the resumes! I once spent 3 months sending resumes, going to interviews, making phone calls, etc. before I was able to land a job in my career field.
Don't give up! Quitting is for quitters.

Be sure to call them first thing tomorrow. They may have overlooked you, or someone else may drop out. Finding out why someone didn't hire you helps you prepare for next interview. Make use of any resource you can find to help you with your search for work. You also have look to sell off any luxuries you may have or perhaps move to a cheaper apartment. Whatever you need to do I hope you find help in getting through this time.

You should call them and ask them about the job. If not then go find a different job. (fast food, grocery store, gas station) Any thing will do just to make money until something better comes along. Any money is better than nothing especially when your about to get kicked out for not paying your rent.

Personaly I don't ivest myself emotionaly or with too high expectations until there is a paycheck with my name on it. Irregardless of what a person does for a living the need to be accepted by ones peer group is pretty universal. One valuable lesson from one who has held many jobs in several career lines: Specialization is for insects... Don't be so tied in that the loss or lack of a job defines your life. Don't just look for one job to fullfill your life. I was pleasantly surprised when an interim job wound up making me more money than my chosen carreer field. Stayed with it for four years longer than I planned because the money was just too good. Waiter/Bartender in a casino. Currently Truck driver (8 years) safe on the road. 50K plus a year.

I doubt you were the only one interviewed.
While you may have left with a great feeling, it's possible that the next three applicants did even better.
Don't sweat it. Keep scheduling the interviews and keep getting better until you nail it.

I say you should give them a call. Years ago, I applied for a job I really wanted, but they didn't call me right away. I kept politely calling them every so often, until I finally got the job! What have you got to lose?
