How Long is the UPS Claims Process?

I recently filed a claim with UPS over a lost package worth $300. It's been 2 days now, but the bar on the report sheet is still at " Lost Package reported".

^^When will UPS actually begin to look for the package (as in when will the status move to "UPS Package Search"? Thanks.

They typically take 8-12 weeks to go through their system, physically verify the package is missing, issue the final findings, and either pay or refuse to pay.
