i agree- he was one of the problems that led up and increased the impact of the disaster-
city wide corruption- each levee has it's own CONTROL BOARD and received millions in federal aid in the decade before Katrina to improve them and the $$ just vanished.
The Army Corps of Engineers predicted the tragedy a decade before it happened but in NOLA it was "business as usual"
there's no effective judiciary there either- gangbangers walk after violent crimes and return to the streets.
It's the usual partisan "Bush bashing" and "blame game" when the chickens come home to roost. Nagin plays the "race card" and he's back at it-
That town needs a good cleaning- maybe a giant Tidy Bowl attachment at the courthouse...

You can tell alot about a city's populace by who they elect.Take for instance Marion Barry. He got caught smoking crack on TV,and the people of Washington DC still appoint him for government positions.

I am almost feeling you on this. I want to not like this guy. I get the true feeling his is bamboozling blacks. I wouldn't call him a "ghetto rat", but I sense that he is not on the up-and-up like he suggests. I don't get the feeling that he is very bright, mostly.

The same reason Bush was re-elected. People don't like change, so rather than vote someone new in, we just keep re-electing the same idiots to office!
