Chuck Barris....Host/Emcee of both "The Gong show" which had amatuer contestants do an act then either get gonged off or be voted on a scale of 1 to 10.
The other show was "The Chuck Barris Rah Rah Show" which was the first time I'd ever seen or heard of George Carlin...he cam out stood there , made several facial gestures, and said absolutely nothing but "thank you" and walked off stage. Everyone was laughing. This wa a variety show that I barely remember. It was short lived.
He passed away a while back

His name is Charles Barris & he was host of The Gong Show. He was also thought to be a russian hit-man. He was born July 3, 1929. Not sure what he's doin now>

Chuck Barris, is still alive. Although, he's got to be real old by now. He was born in 1929. And according to the movie, "Confessions of a Dangerouse Mind", he was a ahit man for the CIA. According to Wikipedia and IMdB he's still alive.
