I just started 7th grade. I wanted to get more involved in sports this year and tryouts start next week. I'm not sure though cuz I've haven't really played softball and I've never been on a softball team! What are your opinions/tips/comments? :) Thanks!

I'd say go for it... you may not be the best out there, but you can learn a lot from it. Besides that, most girls are just learning the sport in 7th grade and will be right there with you. Our 7th and 8th grade didn't even have a team; we had to wait till highschool.
Just look at it as an oppurtunity to learn something new, and possibly something that you could be very good at.

My daughter pitches for her school softball team. Not to mention she too is in 7th grade. She absolutely loves softball. Not only does it keep her in shape buts she learns a lot. Team work is a big part of daily life and she already has a jump on it. I think you should do it but the decision is ultimately yours, but if you do decide to do it no matter what stick it out all the way through. Never give up....that's our motto.
