Use the colour on the blush area. This is the part of the face between parallel lines, one extending outward from the corner of your eye and the second from the bottom of your nose.Smile and lightly touch the blusher brush on the fatty part of the cheek and gently brush the blusher toward the temple, making a slight curve.A touch of colour across the forehead and on the chin cometes the look. The cream rouge is applied to the cheeks with the fingertips in small amounts and spread in the desired fashion. The powder blusher is applied with a brush.
Blusher Colour Tips:
1.Fair skin - beige, tawny and pink tones.
2.Olive/Yellow-toned skin - warm brown, almond and copper shades.
3.Dark-skin - plum, auburn and deep bronze shades.
4.Tanned skin - orange, apricot, peach and coral shades.
Unlike eye make up and lipstick, a blush is like foundation (base make up).It is not meant to show. The best way to ensure that your blush doesn't stick out like a shaded outline of your cheeks always apply blush before your eye make-up and lipstick.Otherwise, it will be competing with your eyes and lips and that is when you will apply too much. Also, ensure that you are standing in front of a well-lit mirror.Otherwise you will apply too much simply because you were not able to notice the colour yourself. If you are not sure still, apply no more than 3-4 brush strokes. It is unlikely that you will go wrong with that.
* Diamond Face Shape: Cheekbone is clearly wider than forehead and jaw line. Your aim should be to reduce the width around the cheekbone line.
In a diamond-shaped face more emphasis is to be given to the chin, the cheeks and the forehead. Applying cosmetics can help to bring the facial features forward.
Concealer: Apply concealer to get rid of any discolorations, redness, brownness etc. Apply concealer into the centre of the face to create a look of lightness. Blend it in the centre of the forehead, under the eyes and on the sides of the nose.
Foundation: Use two different colours of foundation i.e., one dark and one light. Using a cosmetic sponge, apply the dark shade to the areas that you want to minimize, such as the temples and the jaw line. Keep the centre area where you applied the concealer clear. Next, choose a lighter shade of foundation, one that is very close to your natural colour. Put it on the same areas that you used the concealer - under the eyes, across the nose, forehead and chin. Next, use a sponge to apply a translucent powder, preferably one that doesn't have a colour.
Final Touch: After correcting the face shape with foundations, brush contour powder onto the jaw line to help provide some facial definition. If you feel that your chin, temples or frontal bone protrude, you can cover those areas with some contour powder. To add colour to your face, apply some blush with a makeup brush. Starting from the back of the bone, blend the blush forward.

The truth is, it doesn't matter how light your blush is. If it's not the right shade for your face, it won't look right so that's where you went wrong. A pale peach colored blush under your cheekbones will help contour your diamond or heart shaped face and break it down into a more even shape. Use a big blush or foundation brush to apply your blush, the little ones that come with your blush are terrible and don't distribute color evenly.

You should try using a gel blush, you can mix it with some face moisturizer if it is to dark or obvious on your skin. this may sound stupid but what works and looks nic eis pinch your cheek see what your natural blush colour is, and go 2 shades lighter, and before you put it on blow on the brush to remove excess, and try to use a bigger blush it doesnt concentrate the blush in the smaller area that a small blush would.

I am a makeup artist and this is what I think its is going to be detailed some:
Applying Blush
Select a color of blush that resembles the natural glow of your cheeks after you exercise. Consider having a lighter color for day, and a darker tone for a more dramatic evening look. Keep your blush in the same color family as your lipstick.
2. Consider the type of blush best suited to your skin type. Cream blush works very well for drier skin, as it can help to keep skin hydrated. Powder blush is better suited to oily skin.
3. Complete the application of foundation, powder and all eye makeup before applying blush.
4. Use a full, round brush for the application of your powder blush, as it will make for a softer and more professional look than the brush that comes with the blush. This should not be the same brush you use to apply your loose powder.
5. Place a small amount of blush on the brush and gently tap off any excess. Or, place a small amount of cream on your middle finger.
6. Look in the mirror and smile.
7. Place powder blush on the apple of your cheek and gently brush up your cheekbone toward your hairline. Dot cream blush beginning at the apple, and gently blend up the cheekbone toward the hairline.
8. Focus your blush at the outside of your face near your hairline if you have a fuller face. For high cheekbones, concentrate blush in the center of your face to accentuate your bones.
9. Blend a little blush down your cheek for a little more natural, less dramatic look.
Tips:
For rosier cheeks, consider gel or liquid tints. Wash your hands after use, as these products may stain the hands.
Remember that the lighter your skin tone, the lighter your blush color should be.
To choose a color:
Steps:
1. Consider blush colors that match the color of your cheeks after an aerobic workout. Such shades mimic your natural coloring and help you avoid having cheeks that look painted or artificial.
2. Head to a department store and have a makeup artist assist you in finding a complementary shade. Check your options in natural lighting whenever possible.
3. Remember, the darker your skin tone, the darker your blush should be. Women with fair complexions usually look best in pink or coral shades, while darker complexions are enhanced by wine or burgundy hues.
4. Keep daytime blush light in tone. Opt for a heavier application to create a more dramatic evening look.
5. Match the undertones in your lipstick to the color of your blush. If your lips are red, opt for a pink or reddish cheek color. For pink or rose-colored lips, opt for similar hues in your blush color.
Tips:
Avoid choosing a color just because you think it looks pretty in the case. To enhance your beauty, it must complement your coloring.
Consider bronzer as an alternative to blush. Applied to all areas of the face, it gives a sun-kissed glow without any damaging rays.
Hope that helps.

I use bronzer as blush. i just think it looks much more natural than all those pink shades. what you do is put bronzer on yuour face and then put a bit extra on your cheekbones. practice until you get good at it.
