No mist emerging from my Hankscraft humidifier. What is the problem?

do I have to clean it? With what?

Check and see if you have mineral build up. If you do, get some CLR from any store. They have it everywhere. It will get rid of anything that might be clogging your humidifier. Once it's all cleaned out, as the person above said, adding some salt to your water does seem to help.

Put a tablespoon of salt in the water--you probably have hard water.
