My husband and I have been together for 5 years, married for almost 2. When I met him he was in the middle of a divorce, so there has been huge drama him and his ex over me. There is a three year old child involved, which is the only reson he still has ties with her. We are going to see the child next week. When we make the trip to see him my mother and law is pressuring us to meet with my husband's ex and her and her boyfriend. Would this be wise or helpfull to our relations with her and the child in any way, and if so how and where would be the best way and place.

Bite your lip and smile if you want things to go well. This is not the time to get all crazy jealous. Just think: you're doing this for the child, not your mother-in-law or the ex or the new boyfriend. But for your husbands child. Act civil. We sometimes have to do things as adults to create a positive atmosphere for a child's sake especially when it comes to being a parent.

It would be a good idea, I'm in a similar situation and I've met my husbands ex and her many b/f's ... it will help you see where the child is coming from and to make sure that you have a very positive and stable environment with the child. You should make it some where public & some place the child likes. Why hasn't he seen his child in so long??

Yes, go meet her and her boyfriend. Its always good to be civil due to a child is involved. If you and your husband plans to be together it will be good to have to have some type of open commutation, especially when the child gets older. But, this is my opinion but do what your heart tell you and pray on it. Wishing you and your family the best..God Bless.

You have absolutely nothing to loose here. If anything it is an inspiring moment for you and your spouse. She has the right to be happy too and you are not going to hold the child hostage to this situation. Go out and make the best of it. No matter what she is the mother of his child and will be involved in your life no matter what.

It could be very helpful especially for the child if you all could sit down and work things out. That way the child won't feel any animosity between the adults. I think you should meet in a neutral spot like a restaurant.

I think that for the sake of the child involved, let the past be the past and move on from there. I know it's going to feel very awkward but handle this like an adult for the sake of the 3yr old.

That woman does not want any dealings with you and I have a pretty good reason why. The thought of you being around her kid probably makes her cringe. Unless SHE suggests this meeting, I wouldn't do that.

Also, you might get your feelings hurt when your husband gets that jealous look in his eyes seeing his baby mama with another man. Girl Please.

You make no mention of your ages. so, I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume you think your a mature woman. If in fact you are both mature, there is no problem. unless he wants to swap wives and become swingers for the evening.

not a good idea at all, unless you trust your hubby fully, and know for a fact theres no feelings there yet, down deep, he may say theres not, but when you all sit and drink together and party abit, being alone, you never know what can happen
