This lady started up her van at my sister's place. It was squealing like crazy. A neighbor came out, tapped at the window. She popped the hood, and he fixed the squeaking by putting soap on a couple of belts. It was very nice to see.

For me, a colleague bought me a desk calendar, just because I liked hers.

Today at the local supermarket where we always go. I take care of my parents(both 85) and had accompanied them to the store. Both are quite frail. When the Manager greeted them, she then turned & said to me "how are you holding up? Let us know if we can help". I am 65 myself. They all know all of us & I just felt great that others do care.

Nice huh? Well, I had a wonderful experience of my own.. I was working as a secretary and a young man from India came looking for work. He was so polite and nice and told me he really needed a job because he was supposed to get married the following year. I did my best to convince my boss to hire him ... and he did. Well this guy proved to be a very good worker and he thanked me for getting him the job. The following year he went to India to get married and upon his return he proudly showed me his wedding pictures.

I left the company after a couple of years and returned to school. After writing the final exams, my friend Linda and I went to a restaurant to celebrate. Well, would you believe that he was working at the restaurant ? He recognized me and came to talk to me and explained that he's still working at his old job plus evenings at the restaurant.. It was so nice. When I asked the waitress for the bill, she said that it was taken care of - by him! I called him and wanted to know why he had paid my bill. He answered that he never forgot that I helped him get a job when he really needed it most.

My neighbor brought me a big bowl of fresh fruit "Just Because". I was stunned...no one had ever done this for me before...I barely know her. It generated a trickle effect, and my spirits were high all day, because of her unexpected kindness. I was able to pass her kindness to me...on to someone else. One thoughtful, generous action may have generated many such actions and deeds today. I am still glowing from the after-effect. :)

A man that always comes into my workplace told me I was a pretty woman. I thought that was very kind since I don't feel that I am pretty. He always brings all the employees cupcakes or fried pies etc.

I work and volunteer at a local Family Resource Center. I was given a family ticket ($35 ! ! !) to attend a Luau fundraiser. We couldn't have afforded to participate otherwise. I was STOKED !

I run into kind people all of the time. People need to understand that a smile, a kind greeting and common courtesy speak volumes in a society that is so self absorbed. Thanks for asking
