I was told i was entitled to a 5 days holiday after 3 months....I then booked my 5 days holiday for the 14th-18th August......I finished employment with them on 7th as I didn't take my time off am I entitled to 5 days pay?

You are entitled to be paid any accrued vacation time at the termination of your employment.

It really depends on whether your employee handbook or other human resources documentation states that the company pays out vacation time. Some companies pay out sick and vacation time, some pay out only vacation (most don't pay out sick time) and others don't pay out anything. It's entirely up to the company's discretion/policy. You should be able to check with the human resources manager. And if you don't feel they are being honest, just check the most recent version of whatever handbook or documentation you were given. Even if it's in the handbook...they still may not really *have* to pay it out...

If you already had time time approved off, they might jerk you and take the pay. But I think they should pay you. Call your HR person since every company is different.

Depends on the company policy. Generally, if you quit with proper notice you might get it. If you're fired or quit without proper notice, you won't. Proper notice is usually 2 weeks.

According to law, if you accrued vacation time and you have not used it, then your last check should contain the vacation time.
