Why does Islam spread so fast in prisons?

In most states they let Imams and Priests freely converse with inmates, radical Imams talk to the black inmates and tell them stories how their ancestors were Muslims (which is generally not true of most West African areas which slaves were taken from, even today. With the exception of some of the more northern nations)

Not only does Islam spread fast in prisons. Christianity spreads fast as well. Both are great ways for people to connect with God and belong to a community of those giving service to God. It is a wonderful alternative to gangs and violence. Some factions misuse both Christianity and Islam to spread fear and violent intent. But real Islam and Christianity are about peace, love submission to God and service to humanity.

Because Islam is the religion of evil and prisons are full of evil people so the two go hand in hand.

Because in prison if you stay by yourself you will probably not last very long. It's more of a matter of servival then it is the religon for most.
