i'm trying to become a police officer, but i have this on my record (it happend one really wild night) I want to become a poiliceman in texas and i was convicted of this in california (back in 2002). I want to know if this will disqualify me.

Call the court clerk in the county where you were convicted. They'll be able to tell you the offense classifications. If you want it off your record, call the prosecutor and see what it would take to get the arrest expunged and the court file sealed. Most likely you'l have to hire an attorney in Califorina to handle the proceeding, but it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. As far as disqualification, you'll have to ask the police force where you are applying.
