It seems like a waste of time to me. Pluto will always be a full blown planet to me...and a disney dog :)

No, it should never have been demoted because it should never have been a planet in the first place.
But now judging from all the concern about such a stupid issue I must presume that Pluto has had it's feelings hurt, and its probably gonna just go around and around the sun, all by itself and cry all the time.
It's just a rocky, iceball, why should we care like there's some moral issue here?

To call Pluto a dwarf planet is just plain wrong. It's still a planet regardless of what anyone else might say about it. Also, I hear there may be three more planets in our solar system. I, for one, would like to see more discussion about those. That is only my two cents worth.

No, because now when someone asks me" How mnay planets are in the solar system?" I will say eight and I would probaly get it wrong. So what? But think about the books that need to be rewritten

Yes. It was never large enough for a planet (our moon is larger). When it was discovered, they had nothing other than "planet" to call it.
It still exists as it always had. What's really changed?

everyone who learnt it was a planet at school and is now over 18 and not studying astrophysics is going to be a bit confused. This isn't really fair!
