It is my understanding that Pluto has been demoted to a dwarf planet. This is because of its size and orbit around the earth. There is still some debate on this decision, so we will see where it ends up. Sorry I am not an astronomer, so I can't get more specific than this.

I think it's because Pluto is too small and orbits too close to Neptune.

The IAU (International Astronomical Union) defines a planet as:

"a celestial body must be in orbit around a star while not itself being a star.

It must be large enough in mass for its own gravity to pull it into a nearly spherical shape and have cleared the neighborhood around its orbit."

Okay, he's not a planet anymore because he's now officially a "dwarf" (just like Warwick Davis) according to The Gods of Science.

But he's still my favourite Disney character!! *hee*

Because Walt Disney preferred that he do one job instead of two. He can't have his head in the clouds and all around the universe and do Walt Disney too! Therefore he's has been order according to his contract to continue to play the goofy dog in Walt Disney Films. LOL! Just a little humor there.

It's still a planet, no matter what is said. But, I think those people who demoted it are just a bunch of opinionated idiots. That's all I have to say about it.

Probably because it's been so long since the sun spit it out, it has turned into a ball of solid ice.
