Too far according to my husband. He is convinced the animal kingdom has put the word out that I'm a sucker for injured critters! We have had quite a variety of wildlife end up literally beside our front door.
I work by contract rather than by the hour and he says the reason it takes me so long to finish what I'm doing is because I stop to help people too frequently. But to me, that's the best part of my job. Yesterday I spoke with a woman who just lost her husband. She's changing her image and trying to move on. She just needed someone to help her choose a new handbag and listen to her heart.
The world is cruel at times. Human kindness makes it a little better for all of us.

I will do anything for anything that does not ask my assistance nor need it. I will do less for things capable of providing for itself.

I don't do things to be kind, I do things because it is the right thing to do under the circumstances and it makes me happy to do them.

It depends on our strength! I do not go without it! Whatever happens, I try to make it kindly and gently! This is more powerful than brutality and loudness!
