No. By the time your baby is old enough to roll completely over, he/she will be strong enough to hold it's head up and control most movements. If it's SID's or some other thing that ur worring about happening to your baby, you're pretty much safe once they can controll their movements. I would use a pillow like on the floor just in case he rolls off the bed or couch or something like that.
By the way my daughter is 51/2 and I'm PG again :)

No! Infants should never have pillows or blankets or toys or anything else in the crib when they go to sleep.

There is a specific object that you can buy at Babies R Us or online called a wedge that you can place the baby on that keeps him from rolling over, but even some sources say that you shouldn't use those. I used a wedge for a short time, but the interval between the time my son started rolling over and when he could just roll OUT of the wedge was very short, so we just removed it.

NO!! If he rolls in his sleep he could suffocate on the pillow. Once a baby starts to roll over stomach sleeping is considered safe so don't worry about it. Nothing in the crib--no pillows, blankets, toys, etc.

NO! NO! NO! Ack! NO! The reason that babies are supposed to sleep on their backs is because stomach sleeping is associated with SIDS...placing pillows in his crib is puts your child at FAR greater risk of SIDS than stomach sleeping! He could easily suffocate in the pillows! NEVER NEVER NEVER do this! There should be nothing in the crib ever! If he is able to roll from front to back and back to front, than it is fine to let him sleep how he is comfortable...stomach sleeping is only problematic if a child CANNOT get themselves out of that position. If he is able to roll, than if he gets into a spot where he cannot breathe easily, he will roll into a different position, but if you place pillows he will be stuck and could suffocate in them. Pleast don't do that.

No--as most others have said, pillows can be a suffocation hazard.

However, once or twice when my son needed to sleep on a bed rather than in his crib (you know, when we were not at home), I would stuff pillows around the edges of the bed, UNDER THE FITTED SHEET to form a bowl that he couldn't roll out of. Then, of course, I checked on him regularly just to make sure.

Hope that helps.

If he's in the crib, then NO!!! And if he's rolling, then you shouldn't have him on a bed. Some friends of ours lost their baby because they had her on their bed taking a nap while they were outside doing a yard sale and they came in to find that she had rolled over and got stuck in between the dresser and bed and suffocated. I'm not trying to scare you but it's a very serious matter. NEVER, NEVER use pillows for your baby.

no, he could get his face in a pillow and sufficate. You can get some kind of support thing so that the baby cant roll over when in bed. My doctor told me, though, that if the baby can roll over then it can pick its head up if its in trouble. Just watch it closely. I was a nervous wreck when my son started rolling over. I was worried about this also.

No! there is a snuggle pillow designed for this, but normal pillows can suffocate very easily. Look for a side sleeping pillow in a baby dept of a local store.

don't use pillows with an infant at all until he rolls over on his own while he is awake - peds. actually recommend not using pillows until the baby is 1 year. You can purchase sleep pads at a baby store in which the baby is placed on his back and two "bumpers" are placed by his side to keep him on his back and not rolling over.

No, pillows are more of a concern than rolling over, as they could smother in them. I was told that once my baby is able to roll, it's probably safe to let her do it. You won't be able to stop it once you're asleep anyways. I always flip her onto her back anyways when I go to sleep though. She's 6 1/2 months. God Bless
