First of all marijuana is very beneficial and if you say it kills you shut up dont give me a answer because the research company that said marijuana is harmful have biased results. in all countries where marijuana is legal the research companies found it to be beneficial more than it is harmful ( it isn't that harmful).

It benefits people with glaucoma and also chemo patients.
It gives those going through chemotherapy an appetite, and it relieves the pressure from eyeballs in glaucoma patients.
Also the hemp can be beneficial for making rope, clothing, etc.....
Anyone claiming it is illegal because it is harmful, do not realize the effects of alcohol and drinking and driving. Yet alcohol is legal. Alcohol may be more harmful than marijuana, for causing liver disease, car wrecks, and abusive people when under the influence.

I don't knock the stuff. I do think that people that smoke a lot of it are content to let life drift by however. It seems to demotivate folk. Perhaps it makes the mediocre more acceptable. Some drugs take pain away; it may make the mundane struggles of life less painful. That smoke though! That can not be good for people. The smell of the stuff too! My God, it's like a skunk just got hit by a car, LOL. It's very common up here in Canada, I think it's still illegal though; in some fashion or another. I've read an article in the paper that seemed in support of it's medicinal benefits, but then it went on to indicate that people were fabricating reasons why they must have it. If they weren't doing that they'd be doing something else, so as long as nobodies getting out of hand I suppose it's just fine; probably better than these darn cigarettes I keep sneaking. Now theres a substance they should ban all together. At least with the weed they get all jolly for a while. Maybe that's it! Folk that feel depressed could benefit from it perhaps, short term; till they feel better. I find the criminal aspect very distressing about the stuff though. I have my doubts that there's any benefit there for our society. If you didn't grow it up yourself it pretty much had to have come from some criminal endeavour. So what else are you supporting if you engage in the use of the stuff? Criminals have very different ideas of what's beneficial to society, more to the point; they don't care. That generally means they don't care about the stuff or who uses it. Not a very comforting thought at all, if your pharmacy has no walls. Some things to consider, but still; it couldn't possibly be worse than alcohol; that's a poison; and it's an institution!

Well......ti can get one hi as a mother-f*cker! It can give one a different perspective on stuff, enable one to see things in a different lite......experience life differently. It helps patients receiving cancer-treatment w/ nausea and helps give them an appetite. Moreover, to allow alcohol n' tobacco to be legal, and not marijuana, is not logical. Alcohol n' tobacco kill thousands of people a year. Pot doesn't. Plus, Jesus-Christ smoked a big fat joint during the last supper.

Here's the thing....It's illegal because it causes harm. What benefits could come from that?
Now if you're talking about medical marijuana, then that's totally different. It eases pain of people dying of a hurting disease or w/e or something, but I don't think it should be legalized all over the US (just in hospitals, under certain conditions).

I hear that hemp fiber can be made into excellent paper for book printing.
Smoking marijuana is probably at least as hazardous as inhaling any kind of smoke from dried plant products--like unfiltered cigarettes.

i too believe that marajuana has many benefits. it relaxes you when stressed, stress can cause all sorts of health problems. it definately brings out your creative side! how many messes have you made, on weed? it can relieve pain caused by arthritis. and the only con of tokin' i can think of would be the munchies! you can get fat if you ain't active, don't be a pothead, just a smoker. put the cigarettes down, and let's blaze!

well its really both...You can use marijuana for alot of medical purposes/studies..it calms you down..it makes you happy for a few hours..its great..but at the same time..it kills your brain cells...and alot of people use it for the wrong reasons..some people who smoke it..eventually it does nothing for them and they go to harder drugs..then they are hooked..So it can really go both ways..Also it can harm your baby
