I think that it is fine. Women's shoes hurt. I have no idea how some women keep them on all day. If I couldnt take off my shoes, I know that I would hurt all the time!

To me it would usually be fine if you're going to be there for a while. If you're a teen its ok to go pretty much anywhere barefoot. When you get a job, it does seem unprofesional to walk around the office or library ect without shoes. It also depends on what shoes you're wearing, like ladies with heels can really hurt, so its fine to take them off.

It's absolutely fine if your feed don't stink. I worked with a girl whose feet stank of stale cheese when she took her shoes off in the summer, it creates a dilemma for everyone else - how do you tell someone that actually they are offensive.

It's not really OK to pad around the office barefoot but if you just want to air your toes I say go for it (unless you fall into the smelly feet category).

I find it unprofessional because... that's gross. lol. Even though it's under your desk, people would be able to see. There are reasons for shoes.... to hide your feet and to protect them while walking. When you're at home, you take your shoes off, but not at work or anywhere else.... because that's rude and yucky.

Just as it's not stinky and no one can notice (or cares at all), it's perfectly fine.

You don't work as well if you're uncomfortable, so if taking off your shoes increases your comfort by airing out your feet (which is healthy), then go ahead. It'll help with your work.

Heck, I'd just do it, your feet need to BREATHE!! Who cares if people think it's "unprofessional", they can't fire you just because you take your shoes off.

High-heels can be a killer! So I do it every so often and use it as an excuse to treat myself to a pedicure.
