Independence Day hands down!! It was one of the first movies that could show that kind of devastation. I loved the movie so much it was so good, with the survivors struggling to find a way to fight back, area 51, the wonderful aerial dogfights. Will Smith's attitutude. The interesting aliens that would not accept any coexistence, but simply wanting us to die to give them the earth.

not in order
the arrival (1996 charlie sheen- one of the most underrated & best of it's kind )
close encounters of the third kind (maybe the best invasion film ever made ) i'm hoping for a re-release in 07' for it's 30th anniversary
body snatchers ( 1993 - a remake of invasion of the body snatchers )
id4 (over the top but still awesome )
war of the worlds (2005) truly an awesome experience
predator (one of arnold's best )

This isn't really an 'invasion' movie. (You named most of them, I think.), but "A Fire In the Sky" probably comes the closest to being what it's really like to be abducted. Nasty.
