Hey, I thought I'd write since no one has answered, though I'm actually a native US master's graduate. I don't know about the visas and all that you might need, but I do know that if you have gotten a sound education in the UK, you should be qualified for a master's here.

Many US public high schools are a joke, so graduate schools look at what you did in college (instead of high school), your grades, and your GRE scores. The GRE is a test you take for graduate school--you can look it up online--and basically asks math and language questions. I did poorly on math and still got into a Master's of English program. I'm a Brit lit fan, actually :)

But seriously, if you made good grades in college & do well on the test, they will probably let you in. Also, remember that there are about a zillion schools with graduate programs over here. Try searches for "University of (__the name of any state__)" and see what you get. Hope this helps!
