go to control panel...
click system...
click the advance tab...
click on performance settings...
go to advance...
click change....

change the value here... but remember.. if you are using two hard drives use the swap file on the other disk... it will increase performance... and also try not to set the size of swap file more than 1.5 times the size of you RAM...

If your still using virtual memory get yourself more memory the more virtual memory you system uses the slower it gets cause your system is using your hard drive as memory.If you wan to increase it go to Control Panal in windows when there click system when there click the button Advanced on top when there click performance settings on top again click advanced and there is the option to do that. Go into Control Panel, select Classic view from the right side panel

Select System

Select Advanced Tab

Click Settings in Performance Box

Click Advanced Tab then click change box

Once changed to your preference click set, then apply

The easiest way is to shut dowm programs that you do not need at start-up...
Go to run>msconfig...and go to work.
