Because I seriously don't want to have to fork up a lot of money to get another battery. It's bad enough I'll have to wait a couple of weeks for it to ship.

you can get all the battery recall information at www.dellbatteryprogram.com. It lists the batteries effected and how to get a replacement.

My replacement Dell battery was shipped in 4 business days, was free, and there were simple instructions and a postage paid label for returning the defective battery. For all the anti-Dell people out there, Mac laptop batteries are being recalled for being substandard as well. Frankly, I respect them for quickly remedying a less than desirable situation.

Yeah. Because they screwed up they have to replace or repair their recalled batteries.

Otherwise people would never want to buy from them again.

if dell cant supply properly working parts, its their responsibility to replace any part that has been recalled. if anything, you could always go threw warantee for a defective battery.
