if the stroller reclines it is fine. otherwise if you have found the travel system is too bulky you might want to get a "snap 'n go" frame to put the car seat in, it is much easier to deal with and you will feel like your baby is secure (and facing you!). Very lightweight and easy to get in and out of not only the car but just walking around and shopping or whatever. It also has a nice big basket so you can put your groceries or bags underneath. I had the Graco Snugrider but they have universal ones that will fit all car seats.

I have a Safety 1st travel system as well, and at 5 months I'm still using the carseat to take my baby for walks. I'll be putting her in the "big girl" stroller when she's 6 months and I can put sunscreen on her. I don't like the idea of her being exposed to that much sun at her age (since you're supposed to avoid sunlight with them until 6 months now), and she's fine with the carseat because she can keep all her toys around her, and she faces me but can still see out the sides.
My daughter didn't even have enough strength to sit up properly in the big stroller until a couple of weeks ago anyway. I'm not worried about it; she's got plenty of time to look out at the world. I enjoy looking at her and talking to her while we walk.

You can wait a little more, I guess. If you already have the whole travel system, the baby will be safer in the car seat than in the stroller. Wait until baby can stand his/her head by him/her self.

Yes-- I never used the car seat in the stroller. My son hated being in the car seat. I always thought he looked more comfortable layed out in the stroller with it laying back.

Yes. That's the only way I've put my baby in a stroller, actually. She's 3 months old.
Make sure it is fully reclined before putting baby in, and strap baby down.

Yes definately, as long as it's lying flat. I didn't have the carseat/stroller combination with either of my babies, so didn't have the luxury of putting the carseat right in the stroller. As long as they are on their back and it's flat, be sure to buckle them in. It's totally fine. God Bless

It's fine. Make sure the baby is lying in a comfortable position, and that the stroller is flat.
Don't worry! :-)
